Uhm… Okay??

Zakk Wylde, for as light-hearted and goofy as the man can be, his prolific and face-melting riffs are anything but. As a mainstay in Ozzy Osbourne’s band and the founder of Black Label Society, Zakk Wylde has proven through his musical ability that he is, without a doubt, one of the all-time greatest to ever play a guitar.

However, when it comes to his music, Zakk claims to have a very specific method to writing his songs that’ll definitely make you scratch your head. Here’s what he revealed in an interview with Hysteria Magazine

“What I end up doing is, I take all the Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber records and put them on backwards and listen to all the Satanic messages and the riffs. Then I convert back to Catholicism and play the riffs normal – then there you go, we have a whole bunch of Black Label Society songs. I do it all for the art.”

Sounds like he’s joking right? Well… he didn’t actually specify that. Nevertheless, whatever his bizarre method(s) for songwriting, it’s obviously working so keep it up, Zakk!
