Gene Shares Heartbroken Plea On Social Media

First and foremost, our hearts go out to Gene Simmons as he navigates the loss of his mother, Flora Klein, who died two weeks ago at the age of 93. Her death leaves Gene more than a little lost and with the holidays upon us, heartbroken as he celebrates the first of many holidays without his mom.

Which is why yesterday found Gene taking to Twitter with a stark reminder and a plea to fans lucky enough to still have their mothers with them.

The 69-year-old KISS bassist wrote, “While you are all busy going to stores and buying gifts. Don’t forget the biggest gift you ever got: your Mother. It’s never too early to run over, wrap your arms around your mother and tell her you love her.”

Gene finished with this warning: “Do it now, before it’s too late.”

Fans flooded the post with comments about their own experiences – some, like Gene, whose mothers are no longer with us, and others who fortunately still have theirs.

It’s so easy to forget that like the rest of us, Gene is someone’s son. He was loved beyond measure by a mother who would have died a thousand times over for him, and the loss of that is something that sadly, everyone can relate to as our parents pass on.

If you’re reading this, go call your mom today and tell her you love her. If your mom isn’t with you anymore, say an “I love you” in your heart and then go spread some love to someone – anyone – who needs it this holiday season and know that we at Daily Rock Box love you, too!
