Taking Us Higher

Indiana born Patrique Fortson shows his soulful gospel roots in his inspiring Aerosmith cover of “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing.”  At 6 years old, he became the youngest gospel artist ever after signing to a record label. He toured with a gospel label (until their bankruptcy) for 2 years. This man can belt out the bus schedule to an entire audience and still bring them to their feet. His performance is like attending a master class. Fortson uses his hands to guide you through his fluid range all while you start to pace your breath with his singing. The 2018 Voice contender has rhythmically moved through the competition at an easy pace and shows no signs of slowing his roll.

Even When I Close My Eyes

A magnetic show man for sure, Fortson can keep the attention of even the toughest judges on The Voice. “Take your time baby,” mouths Jennifer Hudson from her judge’s throne- just before Fortson tunes out a tremendous run in his vocals. Kelly Clarkson, agrees with Hudson as she stands up to meet the voice contender with enthusiastic support. Getting carried away in a dream sounds just as good as the singer’s vocals. Patrique Fortson can keep us in this moment for sure.
