Here We Go Again…

If I were to say right now that Gene Simmons made a controversial statement, my guess is that you wouldn’t be the least bit surprised. Nevertheless, no matter how you feel about Gene, you can’t deny that the man knows how to keep his name in the headlines. This time around is certainly no different.

During a recent interview on The Meltdown Show, Gene was asked about a great many things including what it’s like for people on the Internet to dislike him. His response, however, is sure to ruffle a lot of feathers. Here is what he had to say…

“Well, that’s okay! I get paid well enough for this. Not everybody likes Jesus, and that’s okay too. You can’t please everybody. What are you gonna do? The best thing you can do is run a race, look straight forward and be the best you can be. Take it from our military – don’t look over your shoulder and to the side and to the peanut gallery to find out if it’s okay to be you. Just hold your head proudly and say, ‘This is me, take it or leave it!'”

Now, to be fair, John Lennon once made a controversial statement of the same nature and got a lot of backlash for it. Only time will tell if Gene gets that same kind of backlash. My guess is that being that this statement isn’t too out of the ordinary for him, he probably won’t.
